1Overview

This guide takes a new installation from first CAD launch to an initialised infrADAC project. It reflects the current automatic startup, licence validation, disclaimer, interface installation and ADACNew workflow.

Start with a copy of your drawing

ADACNew can change drawing units, text style, the current layer and display settings. Save or copy the drawing before initialising it.

2Complete the first launch

Work through the seven stages in order. The exact way infrADAC starts differs by CAD host, but the licence, disclaimer and project setup outcome is the same.

Step 1 of 7
01

Open the supported CAD host

Start the host selected when infrADAC was installed.

  • Open AutoCAD 2025 or newer, BricsCAD Pro 2026 or newer or the configured 12d Model version.
  • Open the drawing or project you want to use.
  • Allow the host to finish loading before selecting an infrADAC command.
Use the configured Windows user

AutoCAD and BricsCAD startup integration is written to the selected user profile. A different Windows account or CAD profile may need the interface repaired through Modify.

3Interface by product

The same command catalogue is presented through host-specific integration. Use these tabs when the expected controls are not visible.

4What ADACNew changes

The default initialisation actions improve the ADAC design workflow. They can be enabled or disabled under Settings > ADAC New before running the command.

ActionCurrent behaviour
Text styleSets the Standard text style to txt.shx.Keeps generated labels consistent.
LayerCreates the infrADAC layer when missing and makes it current.Separates generated content from existing drawing data.
Drawing unitsSets insertion units to metres.Matches normal ADAC geometry expectations.
Line displaySets linetype scale to 1, enables polyline linetype generation and hides wipeout frames.Improves asset and error-highlight presentation.

5Continue the first workflow

After initialisation, these commands form a practical first sequence.

CommandTaskUse it when
ADACProjectReview the project name, description and export location.Project information changes.
ADACProjectAttributesComplete receiver-required project fields.A required value is missing or changes.
ADACGlobalAttributesSet reusable asset defaults.Preparing to create a group of similar assets.
ADACLibraryReview available assets and profile requirements.Confirming the loaded schema or receiver profile.
ADACStandard or ADACGenerateCreate an asset or assign ADAC data to compatible existing geometry.Beginning the asset-design workflow.
ADACAuditCheck content against the active requirements. Before export and throughout design development.

6Troubleshoot first launch

The infrADAC ribbon is missing in AutoCAD or BricsCAD

Run ADACCUIX and choose the install or reset action. If startup integration points to the wrong CAD profile, use Modify infrADAC Installation to transfer the active registration to the correct host or local profile folder.

The 12d toolbar or command does not start

Confirm the infrADAC toolbar is present, the selected 12d project is open and the configured ADACRun.4do macro exists in the 12d user library. Use Modify to reapply the DCAD toolbar payload to the correct 12d install and user paths.

A command says the project is not initialised

Run ADACNew in the active drawing or 12d project. Complete the project details and save before reopening the blocked command.

The licence or disclaimer blocks a command

Run ADACLicence to review or refresh the licence. Run ADACAbout to review and accept the disclaimer. Use ADACLog to open the latest diagnostic log if the issue continues.
