1Overview
This guide takes a new installation from first CAD launch to an initialised infrADAC project. It reflects the current automatic startup, licence validation, disclaimer, interface installation and ADACNew workflow.
ADACNew can change drawing units, text style, the current layer and display settings. Save or copy the drawing before initialising it.
2Complete the first launch
Work through the seven stages in order. The exact way infrADAC starts differs by CAD host, but the licence, disclaimer and project setup outcome is the same.
Open the supported CAD host
Start the host selected when infrADAC was installed.
- Open AutoCAD 2025 or newer, BricsCAD Pro 2026 or newer or the configured 12d Model version.
- Open the drawing or project you want to use.
- Allow the host to finish loading before selecting an infrADAC command.
AutoCAD and BricsCAD startup integration is written to the selected user profile. A different Windows account or CAD profile may need the interface repaired through Modify.
Allow infrADAC to start
The plugin performs its startup checks before commands become available.
- ACAD and BCAD load through their installed startup loader.
- DCAD starts from the infrADAC 12d toolbar, which launches the
ADACRun.4domacro and desktop host. - Wait for the splash screen and licence check to complete.
The installer configures normal startup. Use the troubleshooting section if the plugin or toolbar does not appear.
Accept the infrADAC Disclaimer
Review the statement before using plugin commands.
- Read the data-accuracy and ADAC acknowledgement.
- Select Accept.
- Use
ADACAboutlater to reopen the statement.
Confirm the interface
Install or update the ribbon or toolbar when prompted.
- ACAD and BCAD compare the installed CUIX with the current embedded interface and can prompt to install or update it.
- Select the offered install or update action, then confirm the infrADAC tab is visible.
- DCAD uses
user_toolbars.4dandADACRun.4doinstead of a CUIX ribbon.
For ACAD or BCAD, run ADACCUIX to add, reset or remove the ribbon manually.
Run ADACNew
Initialise the active drawing or 12d project for infrADAC.
- Select New Project from the infrADAC interface or run
ADACNew. - Review the Initialisation Results.
- If the project was already initialised, confirm whether existing project and global attribute data should be cleared.
When the Project Already Initialised prompt appears, choose No unless you intend to replace the current infrADAC project data.
Enter the project details
Choose the standard that controls the project and record its basic identity.
- Enter the project name and description.
- Set the expected ADAC XML export location.
- Select an installed receiver profile or choose Base Schema and its ADAC standard version.
- Confirm the form to save the project settings.
Complete required attributes
Set project-level and reusable global values.
- Complete the project attributes marked with a red asterisk.
- Review any profile-controlled values that are read-only.
- Set global attribute prefills for asset categories you will use.
- Save the drawing or project.
The project is ready for asset creation, import, audit and export workflows.
3Interface by product
The same command catalogue is presented through host-specific integration. Use these tabs when the expected controls are not visible.

The default initialisation actions improve the ADAC design workflow. They can be enabled or disabled under Settings > ADAC New before running the command.
| Action | Current behaviour |
|---|---|
| Text style | Sets the Standard text style to txt.shx.Keeps generated labels consistent. |
| Layer | Creates the infrADAC layer when missing and makes it current.Separates generated content from existing drawing data. |
| Drawing units | Sets insertion units to metres.Matches normal ADAC geometry expectations. |
| Line display | Sets linetype scale to 1, enables polyline linetype generation and hides wipeout frames.Improves asset and error-highlight presentation. |
5Continue the first workflow
After initialisation, these commands form a practical first sequence.
| Command | Task | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
ADACProject | Review the project name, description and export location. | Project information changes. |
ADACProjectAttributes | Complete receiver-required project fields. | A required value is missing or changes. |
ADACGlobalAttributes | Set reusable asset defaults. | Preparing to create a group of similar assets. |
ADACLibrary | Review available assets and profile requirements. | Confirming the loaded schema or receiver profile. |
ADACStandard or ADACGenerate | Create an asset or assign ADAC data to compatible existing geometry. | Beginning the asset-design workflow. |
ADACAudit | Check content against the active requirements. | Before export and throughout design development. |
6Troubleshoot first launch
The infrADAC ribbon is missing in AutoCAD or BricsCAD
Run ADACCUIX and choose the install or reset action. If startup integration points to the wrong CAD profile, use Modify infrADAC Installation to transfer the active registration to the correct host or local profile folder.
The 12d toolbar or command does not start
Confirm the infrADAC toolbar is present, the selected 12d project is open and the configured ADACRun.4do macro exists in the 12d user library. Use Modify to reapply the DCAD toolbar payload to the correct 12d install and user paths.
A command says the project is not initialised
Run ADACNew in the active drawing or 12d project. Complete the project details and save before reopening the blocked command.
The licence or disclaimer blocks a command
Run ADACLicence to review or refresh the licence. Run ADACAbout to review and accept the disclaimer. Use ADACLog to open the latest diagnostic log if the issue continues.
