1Overview
ADACHelp opens the bundled product-specific offline HTML manual inside a dedicated infrADAC User Manual window. It makes no live-wiki request and never launches a browser or PDF. ADACLog opens the latest diagnostic log and ADACSupport submits a portal ticket with an optional log attachment.
A command fails, a host or native operation stalls, or guidance and support evidence are required.
2Product differences
The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.
ACAD opens the bundled ACAD manual in its dedicated embedded window and logs AutoCAD runtime, command and update/licence details.
BCAD opens the bundled BCAD manual in the same dedicated offline viewer and records BricsCAD/Teigha context.
ADACHelp opens only the bundled DCAD HTML manual inside its dedicated WebView2 window; it does not contact the live wiki, open a browser or load a PDF. Grouped Manual Contents has a persistent hide/show edge tag, and one saved theme choice controls the shell and article. ADACSupport and ADACLog run in the desktop host; the DCAD log records native operation acknowledgements, request/result state and timeouts.
3Support evidence and privacy
Logs can accelerate diagnosis, but users should review what they share.
| Feature or choice | Current behaviour |
|---|---|
| Help | Opens only the bundled product manual in an embedded WebView2 window. Manual Contents is grouped by task area, its edge tag smoothly hides or restores the sidebar, and one saved theme choice controls both the surrounding window and embedded articles. Downloads, PDF navigation and external windows are blocked. The installed help edition remains predictable and fully usable without internet access. |
| Log filters | Settings controls Debug, Info, Warn, Error and Fatal visibility/retention behaviour.Support can request more detail without permanent noisy logging. |
| Support form | Collects priority, licence holder, name, email, subject, description and optional latest log.Tickets arrive with structured context. |
| DWG diagnostic helpers | ExtractBlockAttributes and ExtractPolylineXData are support-oriented ACAD/BCAD helpers and are not DCAD macros. The command reference keeps product availability explicit. |
4Collect and send useful diagnostics
Reproduce once, capture the nearest log evidence and describe expected versus actual behaviour.
Check the task guide
Start with the article for the active product and task.
- Run
ADACHelp. - Use Manual Contents or Search inside the dedicated offline window; no internet connection is required.
- Use the orange edge tag to hide or restore Manual Contents without closing the article, and use the one theme button for the complete window and article.
- Find the command or task and try only the documented non-destructive recovery steps.
Open the latest log
Collect the evidence closest to the failure.
- Run
ADACLog. - Find the timestamp and command entry.
- Record the first meaningful warning/error and the operation result, not only the final stack trace.
Create a support ticket
Provide enough context for reproduction.
- Run
ADACSupport. - Choose Low, Medium or High priority.
- Enter name, email, concise subject and detailed steps/results.
- Enable Add Log File when the latest log is relevant and safe to share.
Track the result
Keep the returned ticket identifier.
- Select Send Ticket.
- Record the ticket ID/number from the success message.
- If upload is rejected, note the HTTP reason and contact the published support email with the ticket context.
5Before you begin
- Reproduce the issue once and record the exact command, host and time.
- Remove or avoid secrets and confidential project content in descriptions or attachments.
- Keep the licence holder, contact name and valid email available.
6Troubleshooting
ADACLog opens no file
Confirm infrADAC has started and executed a command, then check the configured local application root and permissions.
The support form cannot attach the log
Submit without the attachment and include the key error text/time. The form warns and continues when the latest file cannot be found or opened.
ADACHelp cannot render the bundled manual
Install or repair the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, then reopen Help. The viewer does not fall back to an external browser, live wiki or PDF.
Ticket submission is rejected
Correct required contact/subject/description fields, verify internet access and preserve the portal rejection reason for email escalation.
