1Overview

ADACSurface is the ACAD/BCAD entry point for related land and surface commands. It retains an implied drawing selection and routes the chosen action to the dedicated command. DCAD exposes only its five supported Bulk macros directly on the 12d toolbar; Surface, Ground and Direction tools are absent.

Use this guide when

Working with cadastral polygons, surface source geometry, ground modelling or line direction metadata in ACAD or BCAD.

2Route a land or surface operation

Use the menu to verify selection and choose the correct specialised workflow.

Step 1
01

Open the Surface menu

Carry an optional preselection into the menu.

  1. Preselect source geometry if useful.
  2. Run ADACSurface.
  3. Review the selected-object count shown by the form.

3Surface menu actions

The menu is an orchestrator; each action keeps its own validation and results.

Feature or choiceCurrent behaviour
Selection persistenceReads the host implied selection and retains it while the Surface form is open.A user can inspect the menu without losing source scope.
Dedicated commandsEvery action is also available as an ADACBulk*, ADACGround* or ADACDirection* command.Frequent workflows can bypass the menu.
Licence/disclaimerThe routed action validates against its own command name before changing the model.Command tracking and access control remain accurate.
DCAD availabilityThe Surface menu, Ground tools and Direction tools are absent; supported Bulk macros are started directly from the 12d toolbar.Unsupported model operations are not presented as working DCAD routes.

4Before you begin

  • Initialise the project and load a profile containing the target asset definitions.
  • Clean source geometry and understand whether it represents polygons, contours, points, breaklines or a ground surface.
  • Preselect source objects when that makes the intended scope clearer.

5Product differences

The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.

infrADAC ACAD

Uses AutoCAD implied selection and dispatches to shared land/surface helpers.

6Troubleshooting

The action starts with the wrong objects

Return to ADACSurface, choose Select Objects and replace the selection before dispatching again.

The menu is not available in DCAD

This is intentional. DCAD supports Bulk Lot, Easement, Contour, Spot Height and Breakline as individual toolbar macros, but not the Surface menu, Ground surface manager or Direction tools.

An action is available but creates nothing

Open the dedicated guide and check geometry eligibility, active profile definitions and required attributes for that action.
