1Overview
Each XML file receives its own tab and side-menu state. The information panels expose Project, File Details, Coordinate System, Drawing Extents, Surveyor and other parsed project-level fields, with caution indicators where expected values are absent or questionable.
Checking that an XML belongs to the intended project, receiver and coordinate system.
2Verify submission context
Check identity and receiver first, then spatial metadata and section warnings.
Choose the file
Keep the active file visible while reading metadata.
- Select the file tab.
- Expand Project and File Details.
- Compare name, owner, receiver, approval ID, drawing number, revision, status and description with the submission.
Check spatial metadata
Coordinate metadata controls how geometry is understood.
- Expand Coordinate System.
- Review horizontal system, horizontal and vertical datum, approximate flag, origin mark and notes.
- Inspect Drawing Extents and toggle the extent preview.
Review warnings
A caution icon indicates a value that deserves attention.
- Open each marked section.
- Distinguish a genuinely missing source value from a display issue.
- Record source-file corrections for the authoring system.
3Project information panels
The panels display source values and derived warnings without silently rewriting the uploaded XML.
| Feature or choice | Current behaviour |
|---|---|
| Receiver information | Displays the parsed receiver and its configured icon where available.Reviewers can confirm the submission target quickly. |
| Drawing extents | Shows SouthWest and NorthEast values and can overlay the declared boundary.Declared extents can be compared with actual asset placement. |
| Caution state | Section warnings are derived from parsed values and validation expectations.A warning is a review prompt, not an automatic correction to the source XML. |
4Before you begin
- Load the XML file.
- Know the expected receiver, coordinate reference and drawing number when possible.
5Product differences
The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.
Project and file information is read-only in the standard viewer.
Map Pro can use audit findings and editing tools for supported XML corrections; project metadata still requires deliberate review before export.
6Troubleshooting
Receiver or project fields are blank
Confirm the values exist in the source XML and are in the expected ADAC project structure. Compare with List View before reporting a viewer issue.
Drawing extents do not contain the assets
Check both the declared values and the coordinate system. The source submission may contain stale extents or displaced geometry.
