1Overview

ACAD, BCAD and DCAD use red/green assignment feedback before committing assets. In DCAD, a compact direct-selection panel opens automatically: left-click each closed string, select Done, then use the Plan point-in-polygon panel to assign the next numeric Lot or alphabetic Easement value.

Use this guide when

A design contains many closed areas that should become separately identified Lot or Easement assets.

2Select and number cadastral areas

Use the assignment preview in ACAD/BCAD or complete the compact left-click-and-Done selection flow in DCAD.

Step 1
01

Select source polygons

Use drawing selection in ACAD/BCAD or the compact direct-selection panel in DCAD.

  1. Run ADACBulkLot or ADACBulkEasement.
  2. DCAD: the selection panel opens automatically; left-click each required closed 12d string and each click is accepted immediately.
  3. Select Done to continue to LotNo assignment. Select Cancel before making a pick to cancel the macro.
  4. There is no Source Box grid, column choice, Pick menu or press-Esc-to-continue step.
  5. The command rejects open, invalid or already-attributed source geometry before assignment.

3LotNo sequencing and conflict rules

Numeric Lots and alphabetic Easements use product-appropriate selection while preserving one asset per accepted area.

Feature or choiceCurrent behaviour
Lot sequenceLots use positive whole numbers and advance numerically. The assignment order can match plans and staging.
Easement sequenceAlphabetic Easement numbering continues A through Z, then AA, AB and onward. The same readable sequence applies beyond the first 26 Easements.
DCAD numbering scopeDCAD initially begins after the highest matching value already present in the active project. Next LotNo and Sequence step remain editable before every pick.Users can follow the plan's required start and interval without losing duplicate protection.
Conflict handlingExisting design values are reserved; assigning an in-session duplicate resets the prior polygon. Each resulting LotNo remains unique within its context.
Source treatmentEach assigned polygon produces one new standard Cadastre asset in the profile destination model; the original selected string remains untouched.Mass creation does not combine separate parcels into one group, and each new element receives its own ADACId/ObjectId and assigned LotNo.
Stored assignmentDCAD writes the displayed assignment to the created element as LotNo. Lots also receive calculated titled area, and PlanNo is copied from project data when available.Find, Edit, Audit and Export read the same value from the actual created native asset.

4Before you begin

  • Ensure each source is a valid closed polygon and does not overlap ambiguously.
  • Set shared Cadastre global/specific values such as PlanNo before or during creation.
  • Know the starting numeric Lot value or alphabetic Easement sequence.

5Product differences

The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.

6Troubleshooting

The source-selection panel is still open

Left-click every required closed string, then select Done. Do not press Esc or look for a Source Box grid, column choice or separate Pick menu.

Clicking does not select a polygon

Confirm the point is inside a selected, closed, non-self-intersecting polygon. Reselect clean boundaries.

The starting value is rejected

Lots must be positive integers. Easements must contain alphabetic characters only. Existing values also cannot be reused.

No property blocks were created

Bulk workflows intentionally skip them. ACAD/BCAD can recreate property blocks; DCAD stores attributes on the native element and has no DWG property block.

The next DCAD value is higher than expected

The assignment panel starts after existing project values. Review current LotNo values with Find or Audit, then enter the required unused Next LotNo and Sequence step before the next Plan pick.
