1Overview
The current Clean form is a multi-action repair tool. It can renumber/revalue ADACIds, audit/fix InfrastructureCode GUIDs, validate the supporting-files cache, recalculate elevation/length/area prefills and recreate or refresh property blocks.
Audit reports duplicates or invalid GUIDs, files were moved, geometry changed after prefilling, or labels are missing/stale.
2Run controlled repair actions
Back up, select a narrow repair set, read the log and audit again.
Choose scope
Limit the scan to project extents or the full model.
- Run
ADACClean. - Select Extents when the saved boundary is reliable, or Model Space for a full scan.
- Review the asset count and current project context.
Select repair actions
Run only the actions needed.
- Choose Renumber/Revalue ADACIds and/or Audit/Fix InfrastructureCode GUIDs.
- Enable SupportingFiles cache validation and Property Block refresh as required.
- Enable Elevation, Length and Area recalculation only for profile fields configured for prefilling.
Set thresholds and run
Small geometry changes can be ignored.
- Open Thresholds and set minimum changes for metres/millimetres and area units.
- Select Clean Assets.
- Monitor the form log and do not close the host during updates.
Review and validate
Treat warnings as follow-up work.
- Read changed, skipped and warning counts.
- Confirm supporting folders and blocks for repaired assets.
- Run
ADACAuditagain and compare results with the pre-clean report.
3Clean action matrix
Each checkbox changes a different data surface and has a different recovery path.
| Feature or choice | Current behaviour |
|---|---|
| ADACId repair | Scans identities, revalues duplicates/invalid entries and updates supporting-file folders/XData for changed IDs.Identity integrity and attachments stay aligned. |
| InfrastructureCode | Resolves required GUID state from effective definitions and audits/fixes values.Receiver codes meet schema expectations. |
| Prefill recalculation | Computes geometry-derived elevation, length or area and writes only changes above the configured unit-aware threshold.Minor CAD noise does not cause unnecessary data churn. |
| Property blocks | Recreates missing blocks and refreshes all relevant blocks from XData.Visible asset presentation is repaired after data changes. |
4Before you begin
- Create a backup of the drawing/project and supporting-file cache.
- Run audit first and record the issues you intend to repair.
- Choose Extents or Model Space scope deliberately.
5Product differences
The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.
Runs against AutoCAD model space or saved extents and can repair DWG property blocks.
BCAD applies the same repairs to Teigha entities.
6Troubleshooting
Clean reports skipped assets
Read the per-asset reason in the log. Missing schema identity, unsupported geometry or unreadable XData usually requires Edit, Generate or profile repair.
Calculated values did not update
Confirm the asset definition includes the field in PropertiesToPrefill, drawing units are known and the change exceeds the configured threshold.
Audit has more issues after Clean
Restore the backup if needed, then rerun only the repair that addressed the original issue. A profile mismatch can make a technically correct rewrite fail receiver validation.
