1Overview

ADACNew saves Project Details, collects Project Attributes, creates category-based Global Attribute Prefills and opens the Asset Attribute Prefill selector. ACAD and BCAD first apply the enabled drawing setup actions; DCAD runs the same project and preset sequence without changing DWG text styles, layers, units or display settings.

Use this guide when

Beginning a new ADAC design, converting an existing design, or deliberately clearing and rebuilding infrADAC project data.

2Before you begin

  • Save a copy of the existing design before running ADACNew.
  • Choose the receiver profile and expected ADAC standard.
  • In ACAD or BCAD, review Settings > ADAC New if units, text style, layer or line-display changes must be disabled.

3Run the complete ADACNew sequence

The wizard follows the current project and preset order, with drawing actions shown only for the hosts that perform them.

Step 1
01

Run ADACNew

Start from the ribbon, toolbar or command line.

  1. Open the target design.
  2. Run ADACNew.
  3. If the project is already initialised, select No unless you intend to clear the stored project and global data.
Existing project warning

Confirming the clear prompt removes saved project and global attributes and resets the unique-ID store for the new setup.

Run ADACNew in the current infrADAC interface

Run ADACNew shown at this exact stage of the task.

4Product differences

The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.

infrADAC ACAD

Initialisation changes the active AutoCAD database and then opens modeless project/attribute forms.

5Host and project changes

Project stages are shared; drawing setup remains specific to the active host.

Feature or choiceCurrent behaviour
Text styleACAD/BCAD create or update Standard to use txt.shx when enabled; DCAD does not perform this DWG action.Generated DWG labels can use a consistent font without implying a 12d text-style change.
LayerACAD/BCAD create infrADAC when missing and make it current when enabled; DCAD does not create a DWG layer. Each host keeps its own model organisation.
Units and displayACAD/BCAD can set insertion units, linetype scale, polyline generation and wipeout frames; these settings are not applied to 12d Model.Host-specific display changes are not presented as shared project data.
Preset chainAll three products open Project Attributes, Global Attribute Prefills and Asset Attribute Prefills after Project Details saves. The project can be completed in one guided sequence.
DCAD project storageDCAD saves the resulting project values through the native 12d project-attribute store. The active 12d project retains the project context used by later commands.

6Troubleshooting

ACAD or BCAD reports a failed drawing action

Open ADACLog, check the drawing is writable and rerun after correcting the layer, text-style or host permission issue. Disabled actions are reported as skipped, not failed.

The profile list is empty

Open ADACSettings, verify the profile folder and import or restore a valid .idc profile. The project can also use Base Schema.

The project form was cancelled part-way through

Run ADACProject, ADACProjectAttributes, ADACGlobalAttributes and ADACAssetAttributes to complete the missing stages without clearing the project.
