1Overview
Audit and Find can register transient graphics for failed or selected assets. Show and Hide control their visibility; Wipe clears them. All three commands can use an implied selection for targeted behaviour.
Locating report failures, reducing temporary visual clutter or clearing stale highlights after corrections.
2Before you begin
- Run an audit or Find operation that creates highlight data.
- Decide whether to affect selected assets or every stored highlight.
- Remember that highlights are not saved geometry.
3Highlight state actions
Visibility and deletion are separate so a review can be paused without losing context.
| Feature or choice | Current behaviour |
|---|---|
| Show | Displays registered transient graphics, globally or for selected entities.Hidden failure locations can be revisited. |
| Hide | Turns off visibility without deleting the transient registration. The drawing can be reviewed uncluttered and restored later. |
| Wipe | Clears transient registrations for selected or all entities.Corrected/stale results do not linger. |
| Data safety | None of the commands writes asset attributes or modifies geometry.Visual diagnostics remain separate from production data. |
4Highlight actions
Choose selected or global scope, then use Show, Hide or Wipe according to whether the diagnostic set should be retained.
Show highlights
Restore visible diagnostics.
- Preselect failed assets to target them, or leave nothing selected to show all stored highlights.
- Run
ADACErrorShow. - Zoom or use Find to inspect the highlighted assets.
Hide without clearing
Preserve the transient set for later.
- Preselect assets to hide selected highlights, or leave nothing selected to hide all.
- Run
ADACErrorHide. - Use Show when the same diagnostic set is needed again.
Wipe highlights
Delete the selected or complete transient diagnostic set.
- Preselect assets for targeted removal, or leave nothing selected to wipe all highlights.
- Run
ADACErrorWipe. - Confirm the intended diagnostic graphics are removed.
5Product differences
The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.
Uses AutoCAD TransientManager graphics keyed to ObjectIds.
BCAD uses the corresponding Teigha transient manager.
6Troubleshooting
Show displays nothing
Run audit with Highlight Failed Assets enabled or use Find first. There may be no registered transient set.
Old highlights return
Wipe them, correct assets and rerun audit. Hide alone preserves the set.
Only some highlights changed
A CAD preselection was active. Clear the selection and rerun the command for global behaviour.
