1Overview
The installer completes licence activation and deploys the infrADAC software required by the selected CAD host. It also downloads any profiles, packages and add-ons available under the licence.
Installation is completed through one guided wizard. AutoCAD startup loading is configured automatically when the matching user profile is resolved. BricsCAD and 12d installs can also be repaired or transferred later from Modify.
The installer must contact the activation and download services before it can continue.
2Before you start
Confirm the following before opening the installer:
- A valid infrADAC licence key is available.
- The computer has an active internet connection.
- A supported CAD host is already installed.
- You can browse to the CAD host installation folder.
| CAD host | Minimum supported version | Executable checked by installer |
|---|---|---|
| AutoCAD | 2025 or newer | acad.exe |
| BricsCAD Pro | 2026 or newer | bricscad.exe |
| 12d Model | Valid 12d Model executable | 12d.exe or 12dmodel.exe |
Save your work and close any active CAD sessions before starting the installation.
3Download the installer
- Open the infrADAC Downloads page.
- Review the live installer version, publish date, file size and SHA-256 checksum.
- Download the latest available infrADAC Installer.
- Open the downloaded installer file to begin.

4Run the installer
The wizard takes you through seven stages. Complete them in order and do not close the installer while files are being downloaded or extracted.
Welcome screen
Review the introduction and begin the setup process.
- Launch the infrADAC installer.
- Review the welcome information and internet connection reminder.
- Select Next to continue or Cancel to exit.
Accept the Licence Agreement
Acceptance is required before the installer can proceed.
- Read the Licence Agreement.
- Tick I have read and agree to the Licence Agreement.
- Select Accept to continue.
The Accept button remains disabled until the checkbox is selected. Use Back to return to the Welcome screen or Decline to exit.
Enter the licence key
The installer validates the key and activates the licence for this computer.
- Enter the licence key in the text field.
- Wait for the connection indicator to confirm that the activation server is available.
- Select Next once the complete key has been entered.
The field accepts alphanumeric characters and inserts hyphens automatically. A complete key uses the format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.
If the connection indicator is red, check the computer's internet connection before retrying. Activation cannot continue while the server is unavailable.
What is sent when you select Next?
The installer sends the following activation information:
- The licence key, normalised without hyphens.
- Device identifiers for the CPU, motherboard and Windows device ID.
If activation succeeds, the service returns download information for the infrADAC base software and any packages or add-ons available under the licence.
Select the licence type
Choose how this installation should hold or reach its licence entitlement.
- Choose Computer Licence when the licence is locked to this workstation.
- Choose Floating Licence when a checked-out seat needs to move between devices.
- Choose Floating Network Client when this workstation connects to an infrADAC Network Licence Server.
- For a network client, enter the server host/IP, port and local auth token supplied by the network licence server administrator.
- Select Next.
The installer does not choose or extend a floating checkout period. The licence entitlement held by infrADAC controls it.
Select the CAD host and packages
Choose the installed CAD application and any entitled profile packages or add-ons.
- Select Browse.
- Choose the installation folder for AutoCAD, BricsCAD Pro or 12d Model. For 12d Model, select the install root or the
nt.x64folder. - Confirm that the detected version is shown as compatible.
- Select the packages and add-ons to install, where available.
- Select Next.
The installer validates the folder by locating the host executable. AutoCAD must resolve to acad.exe and version 2025 or newer. BricsCAD must resolve to bricscad.exe and version 2026 or newer. 12d Model is accepted when the selected folder or its nt.x64 child contains 12d.exe or 12dmodel.exe.
Install infrADAC
Allow the wizard to download, verify, extract and configure the selected components.
The Installing screen displays a progress bar and the current operation. During this stage, the wizard:
- Creates the infrADAC folder structure.
- Writes the activated licence file.
- Authenticates with the download service.
- Downloads the latest stable software release.
- Verifies the SHA-256 value when one is provided.
- Extracts the software and updates the configured folder paths.
- Configures AutoCAD automatic startup loading when the user profile is resolved, or configures the 12d toolbar payload for 12d Model installs.
- Downloads selected profiles, packages and add-ons.
- Registers the file icon, updater and uninstaller for the current user.
Wait until the completion screen appears. Closing the wizard can leave the installation incomplete.
Finish the installation
Exit the wizard after all selected components have been installed successfully.
- Confirm that the completion screen is displayed.
- Leave Open user manual selected if you want the PDF manual to open after setup.
- Select Finish.
infrADAC is configured and ready to use when the supported CAD host is next opened.
5Installation files and folders
The installer creates an infrADAC application root for the selected host. AutoCAD and BricsCAD installs use the selected host folder as the target base path. 12d Model installs use the Program Files application root and then copy the 12d-specific payload into the 12d install and user path roots.
The application root contains the following working folders:
Data, Licence, Logs, Lisp, Profiles, Projects, Uninstall and Update.
AutoCAD installation behaviour
The installer validates the selected AutoCAD install folder, resolves the matching Autodesk user profile and writes a tagged infrADAC block to acaddoc.lsp in the Roaming Support folder. The block loads Lisp\ADACRun.lsp from the installed infrADAC root.
BricsCAD installation behaviour
The installer validates the selected BricsCAD install folder and deploys files beneath GalaxyPixelStudios\infrADAC. If automatic loading needs repair, open the registered Modify action and choose the BricsCAD local profile or Support folder so on_doc_load.lsp can be updated.
12d Model installation behaviour
For 12d Model, the installer accepts the 12d install root or its nt.x64 folder, then resolves the install root before copying the 12d payload. Data\12d\InstallLocationRoot is copied into the selected 12d install root. Data\12d\UserPathRoot is copied into the 12d user path root, normally derived from the selected 12d version folder, such as C:\12d\15.00.
If user_toolbars.4d already exists, the installer replaces only the infrADAC toolbar block and preserves unrelated toolbar content. Advanced deployments can override the user path root with INFRADAC_12D_USERPATH_ROOT.
6Modify and update infrADAC
Use the registered Modify action for licence maintenance, host repairs or moving an existing installation. Use the updater for later infrADAC release files and package updates.
Modify an existing installation
- Open Windows Settings, go to Apps > Installed apps, locate infrADAC and choose the registered Modify action.
- Use modify to transfer or copy an existing install to another supported AutoCAD, BricsCAD Pro or 12d Model location.
- For BricsCAD repairs, choose the correct local profile or Support folder when prompted so
on_doc_load.lspcan be updated. - Use Uninstall Licence when the installed licence file needs to be removed without treating that as a full application uninstall.
Apply software updates
- The updater verifies downloaded update packages before applying them.
- If AutoCAD, BricsCAD Pro or 12d Model is running, the updater waits and asks you to close the listed host process before files are replaced.
- Before applying an update, infrADAC creates a backup under the local updates backup folder.
- If file application fails, the updater attempts to restore backed-up files and remove files created by the failed update.
Use Modify when you want to repair, transfer, copy or adjust an existing installation. Use the Windows uninstaller only when infrADAC should be removed from the computer.
7Troubleshooting installation
If setup is cancelled, the Licence Agreement is declined or an error occurs, the installer opens an Exit screen with the reason the process stopped.
Installer and updater errors include a deterministic animal support code. Quote the code exactly so support can identify the error category quickly.
Installer support code meanings
The installer uses the same animal name for the same failure category on every machine.
| Support code | Meaning | What to check first |
|---|---|---|
| KOALA | The installer was started with invalid command-line arguments. | Start the installer normally from the downloaded setup file. |
| NUMBAT | The installer configuration is invalid or missing required values. | Re-download the installer from the Downloads page and run it again. |
| KANGAROO | Windows denied access to a folder, file or registry location required by setup. | Check folder permissions, antivirus controls and whether the selected CAD folder is writable. |
| WALLABY | A required folder or file path could not be found. | Confirm the selected CAD host folder contains the expected executable. |
| BILBY | The target disk ran out of space during download, extraction or copy. | Free disk space, then run the installer again. |
| DINGO | A required file is in use and cannot be replaced or written. | Close AutoCAD, BricsCAD, 12d Model and any file explorer windows open in the install folders. |
| CASSOWARY | The activation or download service could not be reached. | Check internet access, firewall rules, proxy settings and service availability. |
| QUOKKA | Licence activation or download authorisation failed. | Check the licence key, remaining activations and whether the licence is assigned to the selected product. |
| EMU | A software, package or add-on download failed. | Retry after confirming network stability and that downloads are not blocked. |
| PLATYPUS | The downloaded file did not match the expected SHA-256 checksum. | Delete the partial download, re-download and retry. Report repeated checksum failures. |
| ECHIDNA | The downloaded zip package is invalid or could not be extracted. | Re-download the installer or package and check antivirus quarantine history. |
| WOMBAT | A known user-correctable install failure occurred. | Read the message shown with the code, correct the condition and retry. |
| TASMANIAN-DEVIL | An unexpected installer failure occurred. | Send the support code and installer log to support for diagnosis. |

The updater writes diagnostic information to:
Common installation issues
| Issue | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connection indicator is red | The activation service cannot be reached. | Check internet, firewall or proxy access then retry. |
| Next remains disabled | The licence key is incomplete. | Enter all 25 characters in the required format. |
| Host is incompatible | The selected folder is incorrect or the CAD version is unsupported. | Select the folder containing the expected executable and confirm the minimum version. |
| Installation failed | A download, verification, extraction or configuration step did not complete. | Record the support code and retain the installer log for support. |
| Installation was cancelled | The wizard stopped before setup was complete. | Close the Exit screen and restart the installer when ready. |
8After installation
No additional post-installation configuration is usually required. The installer deploys the application files, writes the licence, configures the supported startup payload and registers the updater, uninstaller and file association for the current Windows user.
- Open AutoCAD, BricsCAD Pro or 12d Model.
- Allow infrADAC to complete its first launch checks.
- Continue to the Getting Started guide for the initial in-product workflow.
