1Overview
Collaborate creates or joins a shared review room. Free rooms support up to three connected users. A Map Pro host can run a ten-user room, while API-hosted larger Pro sessions are used above five connected users when that service is available.
A reviewer, designer and receiver need to discuss the same mapped submission in real time.
2Before you begin
- Confirm project information is approved for live sharing.
- Use a reliable internet connection.
- Agree who will host and which file/state should be reviewed.
3Room capacity and persistence
Live rooms share review state within explicit tier and service limits.
| Feature or choice | Current behaviour |
|---|---|
| Free capacity | Supports rooms with up to three connected users.Small review sessions can run without Map Pro hosting. |
| Map Pro capacity | A Map Pro host can run ten-user rooms; larger Pro sessions above five users can use API-hosted room infrastructure.Capacity and hosting behaviour match the current account tier and service state. |
| Shared state | Collaboration synchronises supported live review state, not an uncontrolled overwrite of original XML files.Source corrections still require the appropriate authoring or Map Pro export workflow. |
4Run a shared review
Choose the correct host capacity, verify connection, review, then close with recorded actions.
Create or join
Open Collaborate from Tools.
- Choose to create a room or enter the supplied room details.
- Use the displayed room identifier securely.
- Wait for connection status before changing the review state.
Share the review
Keep the room focused on one active question.
- Load or select the agreed project context.
- Use map navigation and inspection while participants are connected.
- Watch room status and participant count.
End the session
Close the shared room deliberately.
- Confirm review actions and outstanding corrections.
- Leave or close the room.
- Do not assume temporary room state changed the source XML.
5Product differences
The task is shared where possible, but selection, interface integration and model operations follow the host shown below.
Free accounts can host or join rooms up to the current three-user capacity.
Map Pro raises host capacity to ten users and enables API-hosted larger-room behaviour where configured.
6Troubleshooting
The room is full
Check the current participant limit. Ask an inactive participant to leave or use a Map Pro host when a larger approved session is required.
Participants see different state
Confirm everyone joined the same room and that the connection status is active. Re-select the agreed file and map mode after reconnecting.
The room disconnects
Preserve the room identifier, check service status and reconnect. Record decisions outside the room when network reliability is poor.
