1Overview

The infrADAC Updates window checks the stable software channel and the profile packages available to the active licence. Selected items are downloaded and verified. Profile packages are applied in the CAD session, while a software package is staged for the separate updater.

Software and profiles follow different paths

A profile update can finish inside the Updates window. A software update must launch the updater and wait for the CAD host to close before application files are replaced.

2Before checking

  • Save the active drawing or 12d project.
  • Connect to the internet.
  • Keep the current licence valid so the update service can identify entitled software and profile packages.
  • Allow time to close AutoCAD, BricsCAD Pro or 12d Model when a software package is ready to install.
Custom profile content needs a choice

If an installed profile contains a User folder, decide whether to merge those customisations into the update or replace the profile and discard them.

3Check and install updates

Step 1 of 6
01

Open infrADAC Updates

Start the check from the host interface.

  1. Select Update from the infrADAC interface or run ADACUpdate.
  2. Wait while the window checks internet access and authorises release access.
  3. If a previously downloaded software package is pending, choose whether to run the updater now.

4Profile package updates

Profiles are checked only for packages available to the current licence. The downloaded .idc is verified before installation.

5Pending software updates

If a software package was downloaded but the updater was not launched, the next ADACUpdate run displays Software update pending installation.

  • Select Yes to launch the staged package.
  • Select No to leave it pending.
  • If the staged package was removed, infrADAC clears the pending state and asks you to download it again.
  • If updater launch fails, the pending state is restored so the action can be retried.

6Backups, rollback and logs

Before replacing existing application files, the updater creates a timestamped backup. If application fails or is cancelled, it attempts to restore replaced files and remove only files created by that update.

%LOCALAPPDATA%\InfrADAC\Updates\Backups
%LOCALAPPDATA%\InfrADAC\Updates\Logs\infrADAC_Updater_yyyyMMdd_HHmmss.log
The updater reports a SHA mismatch

Run the update check again and download a new package. Do not manually apply the staged zip.

Files are still in use

Close all CAD processes, including background AutoCAD or BricsCAD processes, then select Retry.

Access is denied

Select Retry after confirming the target folders are writable. If the installation is under a protected location, run the updater as Administrator.

The update fails part way through

The updater attempts rollback and displays an animal-named support code with the user message. Retain the timestamped updater log and quote the code exactly when contacting support.
